My partner in art and life and I have merged our creative talents to form EastRand Studios. We offer everything from graphic design, murals, live painting, and creative consultation. Heres an excerpt from our joint site: “Alise and Jack Eastgate are Oakland-based collaborative visual artists. Alise is from Louisiana and Jack is from the Fiji Islands; they each found creative inspiration and one another in Oakland. Alise and Jack have exhibited in solo and group shows in the Bay Area and they have live-painted at events and festivals throughout California and the Fiji Islands. Through their joint project, East Rand Studios, they have created public art in Naitasiri, Fiji and in Oakland, California. Their work draws from the lush, tropical landscapes of Fiji along with the creative traditions of the African diaspora, the South Pacific Islands, and the contemporary styles of Oakland. Using these sources of inspiration, Alise and Jack create paintings that are aligned with a just and kind world they imagine and aspire to create.”

ENVIROMENTAL WAYFINDING GRAPHICS
My design career took a different turn and I jumped into the world of wayfinding graphics. Square Peg Design has allowed me to greatly expand my skillset with a huge variety of projects; from digital to analog interactive signs to gigantic 600 foot digital murals, working with large clients like Disney, Universal Studios, BART, Zynga and so many more. Here are just a few of my favorite projects.

ABOUT ME
Jack Eastgate is a Fijian multidisciplinary creative professional with over 6 years of in-house graphic design experience and over a decade of freelance design experience. With in-house design work ranging from a remote resort in the Fiji islands to an environmental graphics firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jack offers a truly diverse skillset and knowledge base. Through his collaborative freelance art and design project, EastRand Studios, he has designed for musicians, innovators and activists including the cover art for Grammy-Award winning album, animations for a virtual performance at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and multiple book covers and illustrations that have been published through Lantern Publishing & Media. When Jack isn’t designing or making art, he spends his time nurturing his family and his organic garden.
